THE RANE CENTER for Venous and Lymphatic Diseases at River Oaks

THE RANE CENTER provides comprehensive care in the diagnosis and treatment of Venous and Lymphatic Diseases at River Oaks Hospital. It is comprised of a medical team led by vascular surgeons Seshadri Raju, M.D. and Peter Neglén, M.D., Ph.D. Nearly 700 patients from 35 states in the United States and a number of patients from countries around the world have visited the center to seek the medical expertise of the staff of the THE RANE CENTER.

The RANE CENTER utilizes the River Oaks Hospital Vascular Laboratory, which is an ICAVL (Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories) certified laboratory under the medical direction of Dr. Peter Neglén. The Vascular Laboratory is supported by a team of vascular technologists committed to providing quality patient care and testing for the diagnosis of venous and arterial vascular diseases.

The River Oaks Vascular Laboratory is the only laboratory in the United States that specializes in comprehensive functional testing of Chronic Venous Disease (CVD). The investigations include non-invasive studies as well as minimally invasive pressure measurements to assess the presence and severity of venous valve reflux and outflow obstruction.

The River Oaks Vascular Laboratory performs highly specialized investigations for deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The ICAVL requires investigations of the venous system for DVT that should not be limited to the femoro-popliteal (groin to knee) veins, but should also include the calf veins and the iliac venous outflow, which are not routinely evaluated in non-accredited vascular laboratories. Studies have shown that DVT resulting in life-threatening pulmonary embolisms often originate in iliac veins; undetected calf vein thrombosis often results in significant sequelae if left untreated.

In addition, the River Oaks Vascular Laboratory provides a variety of quality arterial diagnostic studies with or without treadmill exercise. These include cerebrovascular tests (Carotid Duplex Ultrasound and Transcranial Doppler) and peripheral arterial physiologic tests (Arterial Segmental Pressure Studies and Ankle/Brachial Indes or ABI).

THE RANE CENTER is located in Suites 420 and 480 of the Suites at River Oaks. For more information, please call 888.601.RANE.
